Farming Experiences!

Looking for a farming experience?

We are open to hosting short-term farm experiences.

This opportunity is mutually beneficial.  What do we hope to gain?  We benefit from your fresh ideas which sparks inspiration.  What do you hope to gain?  That is the first thing we will want to know when you reach out to us.  Therefore, please be ready to share some background on yourself and to answer that question.

Reach out to us via email once you have a tentative plan, e.g.:

  • How many days are you seeking to work with us on the farm?
    • Of those days, how many hours each day?
  • Will it be just you or will you bring friends/family?
  • Do you, or others in your party have intolerance to extreme weather,           bugs,  smells, etc.?
  • Where will you stay?  (in some cases, you may stay on-site)
  • If staying off-site, how do you plan to commute to and from the farm?

Those who reach out with answers to those questions will be given higher consideration.

You are also welcome to make your inquiry, in person, at the farm (we are open most days so, please check our hours before you plan your trip or, better yet, give us a day's notice before you arrive).

On a personal note: Please be aware that there is a heightened interest in farming these days as a way to survive a future catastrophe or apocalypse.  And, though I am all for gaining skills and broadening one's character, I do want to express that I have been farming for 18+ years and, in all those years of experience, I feel no more equipped to deal with an apocalypse than the next person.  So, please be aware if you are seeking this experience as a means of salvation, you (and us) are probably more likely to walk away with more disappointment than satisfaction at the end of the experience.  We believe our salvation comes from the divine Lord and we see farming merely as a way of life which we were able to choose because of certain freedoms given to us as Americans.
